ILIA Humanoid Platform

An embodied-intelligence humanoid platform being developed at 8Robotics, beginning with an autonomous-delivery application.

Building the first prototype as one coherent system.

ILIA brings together custom robot electronics, embedded firmware, ROS/DDS communications, control, perception, and autonomy. As the primary technical lead, I work across these layers so the physical platform and its algorithms evolve together.

The first targeted application is autonomous delivery. Current development is moving from first-prototype integration toward control and autonomy, including the team’s initial reinforcement-learning experiments.

Key contributions

  1. Led the architecture and development of custom motor-driver and supporting electronics boards.
  2. Integrated embedded firmware and the ROS/DDS robot communications infrastructure.
  3. Led the first complete prototype integration across hardware and robot software.
  4. Direct current control, autonomy, and early reinforcement-learning development.
